My name is Andrew Evans and I’ve been creating marketing solutions for niche customers for over 15 years. So, how’d I get here? Well, actually, I started off in the music industry. Yep. And not even popular music. Bluegrass music. How niche is that?
My first experience in marketing actually happened at the age of 21, when I was an intern at a record label in Nashville named Compass Records. That summer, I was part of the team that helped relaunch Colin Hay’s career. Yep, the guy from Men at Work. At the time, Colin was part of Ringo’s All Starr band. However, three years into working full time in the music industry, I was concerned that I was going to be pigeon holed into a shrinking industry and I felt that I needed a change. I really loved the marketing aspect of my job, so I decided to start working at a marketing agency.
I spent a few years working at a marketing agency and even starting my own, working with clients like the University of Iowa and a multi-billion-dollar manufacturer, KONE.
I was then recruited to work as the marketing director for a company that distributed consumer products to truck stops all over the world. I was in charge of marketing, communications, and brand management for our 4,500+ customers and 11 private label brands. During my tenure, I helped launch several multi-million-dollar products, like the e-cigarette brand, Mistic.
I love everything marketing related including strategy development, segmentation, copywriting, ad design, social media, SEO, email marketing & drip campaigns, analytics, content marketing, direct mail, and tradeshows.
